We opted for the Free State of Thuringia, as it provides optimum conditions. It has, for instance, a long tradition as being an innovative location for science and commerce. Plus, the PISA survey has shown that Thuringian pupils are among the best educated! horizon Thuringia has therefore been celebrating its début in May 2010 in Weimar. The UNESCO World Heritage city is so central and easy to reach that motivated upper school pupils studying for their Abitur (German general qualification for university entrance), students and young professionals from throughout Thuringia will be keen to come and find out what you have to offer. The Neue Weimarhalle exhibition centre is striking in its architectural elegance, combined with spatial flexibility and functionality. Just 10 minutes' walk from the station, it provided the perfect venue for horizon Thuringia 2010.
